On the 2nd March, the newspaper ‘El Tiempo’ in its section ‘La Zona’ published an article about one of our SGS students.
17- year -old Carlos Mora is an 11th grade student who dreams of becoming a professional musician. His passion for music began when he was just 4 years old when his ability to play percussion instruments became apparent. He was in the ‘Mundo de la Música’ academy for 10 years where he learnt to play the drums. He was awarded a scholarship by the School to pursue his studies in ‘la Escuela Emmat.’ He also plays the guitar, the bass guitar ‘the congas’ and the piano. For the last three years he has been having singing lessons and learning vocal techniques and computer music programming.
Whilst in school, it was in ‘el Semillero Musical’ that one of the teachers discovered his talent. He has participated in many musical events in the School such as the Christmas Show as well as playing in the Symphonic Orchestra.
Carlos is currently considering studying music abroad, perhaps in Berklee College of Music that has produced artists such as Juan Luis Guerra.
