Today, being bilingual is part of our everyday lives. It is not only necessary for job opportunities but also indispensable on a day to day basis in different contexts. In a globalised world, language cannot be a barrier. It is an opportunity to have access to all the opportunities that present themselves. We need it for travelling, to gain knowledge, to improve our communication skills, for higher education, or job opportunities among others.
For this reason, Saint George’s School is assisting parents by providing them with the necessary tools to encourage their children in the processes of learning to read, write and expressing themselves not only in Spanish but also in English.
What is the role of parents in this process? Perhaps they speak a bit of English or another language, or not.
We are here to guide you.
The Workshop- Being Bilingual at Home- deals with:
- Myths and realities of being bilingual
- The benefits to children and their families of being bilingual
