The month of May is special for all the Saint George School Community. It is a time for reflection, to appreciate what we have and to share with those who do not. May was an important month for the founder of our school Mrs. Mary Allen de Acosta. With her deep catholic convictions, she showed her devotion to the Virgin Mary with a procession headed by Pre-School, followed by a solemn assembly of the whole school.
We carry on with her legacy: the procession and the assembly and every Thursday, the little children from Pre-School bring white flowers for the Virgin.
This is also the month in which we raise funds for the Little Heroes Totus Tuus Foundation through the campaign, ‘Together we can make miracles happen’ and the sale of various articles.
The Foundation whose founder is a former pupil, provides shelter, care and comprehensive support for children with cancer and /or chronic diseases and their parents, particularly those in need.
Let us remember that the idea behind this tradition is for you to spare some of your time to help those who are less fortunate.
We ask everyone in SGS to help with this noble cause and support the Little Heroes who need us.
