In SGS, we are proud of the talent of our current and former students. We are delighted they benefit from all the School has to offer not only academically but in all areas, including sport and the arts. Maria Paula Gallardo, also known as ‘Gallardia,’ is a prime example.
‘It all began in Pre-School when Mr. Leon (Jairo Leon) taught us singing. I was small and could not even write but that did not stop me from dreaming…dreaming that one day I would be a great singer. Time went by and every House Competition, Christmas Show, Talent Show, I fell more and more in love with music. Six months ago, I graduated from school and the dream I had been nurturing since Pre-School, came true.
On the 8th September 2020, I released my first single ‘Angeles y Santos’ (Angels and Saints). It is on the album ‘De Angeles y otros Demonios’ (About Angels and other Demons) that I will be releasing in the coming months. I have had excellent reviews and this was made possible by the training I received in Saint George’s School. I was prepared intellectually to face difficult interviews. I was allowed to develop my creativity which assisted me in the musical and audio-visual production. I won’t even mention the discipline instilled in me by the exams, the projects and the homework. But above all, SGS trained me to be a citizen of the world, aware of the needs and problems of the world today. It makes me want to sing not only for the whole world but to leave my message as well.
My name is Maria Paula Gallardo Buendia ( known as Gallardia). I graduated in 2020 and I am very proud to have been a student of Saint George’s School. I am on all the social networks, please join me in my crazy dream: ‘@gallardiam on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tik Tok…and please listen to Angeles y Santos on all digital platforms…’
